Peter Simpson Cook

Peter was born in the American West of British artist immigrants in the mid 1950s. He graduated in fine art and theatre design at Southern Utah University and has been a professional working artist since. His love for natural beauty was born spending summers in the National Parks of Utah which have had a profound effect upon his work. Cook draws from his experiences growing up in the Mountain West to create watercolors, portraits and acrylic works rife with depictions of zen landscapes, architectural beauty and portraits, lending artistic insight to life in the West. Working in the field and painting watercolor landscapes from the stunning Southern Utah scenery was how Peter developed as a fine artist. The Southern California desert was a new source of inspiration for him and moving to Los Angeles in the 1980s, Peter has worked in a variety of artistic professions such as portrait painter, studio & installation artist, illustrator, art director and graphic designer. His studio is in West Hollywood, California.
